" I’m finally learning to quiet that inner critic, the one that used to whisper I wasn’t good enough."

Dear Friends,

I know I’ve been talking about gratitude quite a lot in my recent articles, but honestly, I can’t say enough about the impact it’s had on my life. And I truly believe that it can make a difference for you, too. Yes, I might sound like I’m repeating myself at times (but hey, repetition in a positive, mindful way is exactly how we shift our thoughts in a brighter direction, right?).

This past year has been life-changing for me, in ways I never could have predicted. Through self-development, incredible events, new connections, and sincere people, doors have opened that have transformed how I see myself, what I do, and how I think. I’m finally learning to quiet that inner critic, the one that used to whisper I wasn’t good enough. And, yes, it took a little help, but I’ve realised just how powerful gratitude and self-acceptance can be.

Back in March, I made a commitment to start sharing my journey and to inspire you all along the way -hello to my MOLE Mindful life Blog!. I wanted to help in any way I could, because—yes!—I care deeply about each of you who reads and follows along with me. And while I know I can be a bit of an over-carer (if that’s a word!), I also believe that the lessons we experience and the people we meet shape our lives in ways that last.

This year, my deepest gratitude goes to my therapist. As a counsellor, I never thought I’d need one myself, but there I was, discovering that even those who help others sometimes need a little outside support. My therapist helped me open my “window” a bit wider, giving me a fresh perspective and showing me how to respond to life rather than just react. That lesson alone has changed so much for me.

Then, of course, there are my parents and close friends. It’s impossible to express just how much they’ve supported me in my new business idea. They stand by me, cheering me on, even on those days when I didn’t believe in myself. They’ve seen the hard days, the behind-the-scenes tears, the burnout—moments that I share openly here with you as well.

And I’m endlessly grateful for all the new connections I’ve made this year. So many wonderful souls have entered my life—somehow, magically—and I believe there’s a reason behind it all. Call it my “woo-woo” side, but I think these connections have purpose. Also through platforms like Instagram and Facebook, I’ve met countless like-minded, kind-hearted people who encourage me every day. Their support and kindness fill my heart.

Finally, this year I embarked on a meditation journey on YouTube- I created my own channel- (https://www.youtube.com/@MOLEMindfulLife - feel free to subscribe and support me on this journey if it resonates with you - we can enjoy together!) that, too, has been a gift. Breaking free from my own self-doubt, embracing my voice, and feeling confident in who I am—this has all been a step toward freedom.

So, here are some lessons and tips that I’ve taken to heart this year, and I hope they can bring light and inspiration to your journey too:

Lessons from the Heart

We All Need Support Sometimes

Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness. Even those of us who support others—counsellors, coaches, friends—deserve to have a space where we’re listened to, encouraged, and supported.

Embrace Connections, Even the Unexpected Ones

People come into our lives for a reason. Whether they stay for a season or a lifetime, their presence has a purpose. Embrace these connections, and let them teach you and lift you in ways you may not expect.

Trust Your Voice and Your Journey

Breaking free from self-doubt and learning to trust yourself is a journey, but it’s one worth taking. Each of us has something unique to offer—find your voice and let it shine.

Tips for a Mindful, Grateful Life

Start a Daily Gratitude Ritual

Begin each day or end each night by jotting down three things you’re grateful for. This doesn’t have to be big; it could be as simple as a warm cup of tea, a kind word, or a beautiful sunset. Repeating this daily can shift your mindset over time.

Be Gentle with Yourself

When that inner critic starts to speak up, remind yourself to respond with kindness. We’re often hardest on ourselves, but we deserve the same compassion we give others.

Celebrate the Small Wins

Progress doesn’t always come in giant leaps; it often comes in small, steady steps. Celebrate those little victories, no matter how minor they may seem. They’re all part of your journey.

Stay Open to New Experiences and People

The world is full of surprising connections and opportunities. Sometimes the most meaningful moments come when we least expect them, so stay open to meeting new people and trying new things.

Share Your Journey, Inspire Others

You never know who you might be inspiring just by being yourself. Share your story, your struggles, and your successes. By opening up, you might just become the encouragement someone else needs.

As we head toward a new year, I feel so deeply grateful for each one of you who has walked alongside me on this journey. Life has its ups and downs, but with the right people, a bit of gratitude, and a dash of kindness, we can find our way to a more positive, mindful place.

Thank you for being here with me. And remember, if there’s ever a day you need a bit of encouragement or someone to talk to, I’m here. We’re in this together, learning, growing, and lifting each other up, one step at a time.

With love and gratitude,

Eva
